I would like to give many thanks,to Mark Thamel for all the hospitality he showed,and a great ten day tour of Sri Lanka,great service all the way from the pick up at the airport till the day of departure seventeen days later.

Thank you so much for all your help in organising our 12 day tour of Sri Lanka. Our driver, Wasantha was brillant. He spoke great English and was full of useful and interesting information.

Despite numerous travel warnings against visiting Sri Lanka, we had a wonderful time and didn't feel threatened in the slightest. My advice to anyone thinking of visiting Sri Lanka would be just go. It's fantastic!! Email Mark and he'll point you in the right direction.

Ocean View Guest House was a lovely hotel in a very convenient location. Highly recommended.

Once again, thank you Mark, we'll be sure to contact you should we find ourselves in Sri Lanka again.

very beautiful place to stay and relax..... had a great time there and the tours that they run are great value for money!!! Mark the owner is a really nice guy, thanks so much for the wonderful time!!!

Me and my wife stayed for one night in Ocean View Guesthouse in january 2008 and after spending 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and changing 10 hotels I can say that it is a great place compared to other Sri Lankan hotels. It is clean, comfortable and people working there are very nice which is the most important.
Their 24 hours airport pickup service was also of great help.
But the thing that I am most thankful to Mr. Thamel (owner) is that he helped us to find a driver there. We first wanted to do the traveling ourselves with public transport. But when you arrive to Sri Lanka you will see that it is impossible, if you want to see all the things in Sri Lanka for short time. So we called Mr. Thamel from Colombo and he helped us to get in contact with great driver Mr.Rajith and didn't ask any money for his services (of course we payed driver and the price as we found out later was fare).
I also regret that we didn't book one of tours from this site, since it seems like we didn't save to much money and I really had troubles organizing the trip myself.
All our recommendation to Mr. Thamel, Mr. Rajith and Ocean View Guesthouse.

We have returned to Japan safely today.
The travel was able to be continued really comfortably during our stay in Srilanka.
Especially, Mr.Wasantha of our guide improved and Sri Lanka took to it also compared with before.
When Mr. Ogawa who traveled together comes next time, he expects that it surely comes by company with his wife.
Your guesthouse continues to desire to be one of the houses which become one step of a comfortable trip for the visitor from the world.
It is expected that I can meet you at the time of a next visit.

Aparte de que te resuelven todas tus dudas. Creo que Negombo y Ocean View son una muy buena opción para llegar desde el aeropuerto en vez de ir a Colombo. In my experience, Mr. Thamel (Or Mr. Mark as we know him), runs a very pleasant establishment which is of excellent value.

It has a good range of rooms to cater for most budgets, tastes and requirements.

His ‘Airport Limo’ service utilises a clean, smart and safe estate car (or station wagon), having plenty of room for luggage.

However what marks out ‘Ocean View’ most, in my mind, is that it possesses a delicate balance of service that I’ve seldom found in Sri Lanka.

Generally the Sri Lankan people are friendly and helpful. Sometimes this can manifest itself to the extent that this ‘helpfulness’ is far too ‘in your face’ for the average ‘western’ taste.

Mr. Mark and his helpful staff are very relaxed and friendly, however they are never ‘in your face’.
In my experience they do, however, possess an uncanny knack of knowing just when to be of assistance.

Many thanks for some very relaxing and hassle free stays !

We would like to thank you for our pleasant stay at Oceanview from January 25 till January 27. The rooms were nice and clean, the service has been superb and the atmosphere is very friendly! Although you offer a lot of services you have never been pushy, which we very much appreciated. The taxi service from the airport upon our arrival as well as the taxi ride to Aluthgama were very comfortable. Thank you for your great hospitality. We'll certainly recommend your guesthouse to others. Take care!
